The Ten Commitments of the WCQDMP

We are committed to making this program work to ensure a
better quality deer herd for today and generations to follow.
We are committed to not shooting any button bucks. Let
the little fellow walk so that some day he may become a world-class trophy.
We are committed to not shooting bucks with less than 4
points on one side with 1” tine minimum.
We are committed to keeping records of deer seen
throughout the year. During the hunting season, keep records of deer
harvested. We will need weight and age of all deer, plus scores of all
bucks, with the help from the Wild Life Biologist.
We are committed to shooting does’, in season, in order
to keep the herd balanced. Our goal is a 5 – 1 ratio (if we do not want the
meat, we will find someone that can use it).
We are committed to provide food-plots, feeders and
mineral supplements where possible and not to feed corn until deer season
ends and then stop. We will implement a year round feeding program.
We are committed to assist landowners and other hunters
with this program, helping with food-plots, herd management, etc.
We are committed to communicate and coordinate with Wild
Life enforcement and Biologist to ensure this program works.
We are committed to take a Youth hunting to enable our
hunting tradition to be past on.
We are committed to leaving the land in better condition
than we find it, i.e. removing trash, not disturbing roads, fences, and
making sure gates are left as we find them.
